My name is Rob Cude. I retired from the military in 2006 after 24 years of service. During that time I got into the knife craze. In 1996 I contacted the famous knife maker Harold (Kit) Carson about helping design and make a knife for Navy Special Operations personnel. Being prior military he was excited to help us out. We spent about two years designing and testing the Carson U2, which later became the Buck Knives Intrepid series of knives. During this time Kit was kind enough to invite me to his home and make trips to the Blade Show where he became my close friend and mentor. Kit passed away and is missed constantly by myself and others in the knife industry.
I began writing some short pieces for the knife industry. In 1997 I had a feature article on the U2 in Tactical Knives magazine, and later the knife made the cover of Blade in January of 1999. Kit and I were mentioned in Blade Magazine Dream Teams edition in 2000 as well. Since that time I have given talks at Blade Show and contributed to other articles in magazines over the years. It has been a joy to make friends like Ken Onion, Charles Marlowe, Phillip and Barry Jones, Steve Shackleford, Steven Dick, and Dexter Ewing to name a few.
I decided to start this site and my podcast as a hobby and to be informative for the knife enthusiast out there.
